Bottle Feeding Consultation

This consult can be done prenatally if planning to exclusively pump and bottle feed, use donor milk for exclusive bottle feeding, or exclusively bottle feed formula. It will help you feel prepared and confident in feeding your baby prior to their arrival.

Will include:

Discussion and demonstration of

• Bottle feeding assessment (when scheduled postpartum)

• Infant oral exam (when scheduled postpartum)

• Discussion about types of bottles

• Recommendations for bottles and nipples

• Appropriate bottle volumes for age

• Teaching proper preparation of formula bottles

• Teaching proper preparation for breastmilk bottles

• Instruction and demonstration of proper bottle-feeding techniques

• Red flags for poor feeding and how to recognize possible signs/symptoms of tongue/lip tie

• Breastmilk storage guidelines

• Formula storage guidelines

• Infant weight check (when scheduled postpartum)

• Will include a recommended bottle and nipple to start with

• Written care plan

In-home, in the office, or virtual only.

If this consult is scheduled prenatally, pricing is $150 and will take place in office or virtually. You may choose to add on a follow-up bottle feeding assessment after the baby’s arrival for $125. The follow-up consult will last 1 hour and may be booked at the time of your first appointment and will also include a bottle and nipple that works best for your baby.

You may also choose to add personal pump instruction and flange fitting to the Prenatal Bottle Feeding Consult, or the Postpartum Bottle Feeding Consult for $150. It can be done simultaneously with the bottle feeding consult or after the baby’s arrival. It will include properly sized inserts for your pump.

$150.00/hour
