Nourish & Flourish is your safe haven to learn & grow in grace as you transition into motherhood.
My story
Hi, I'm Lindsay, and I'm so glad you're here!
I am passionate about supporting mamas and babes to flourish in life. I take a whole-body approach to lactation care and assess mom and baby as a dyad as we work together through feeding challenges. My background is holistic, and I am very thorough and individualized in the care I provide. I like to get to the root of challenges and offer unique, compassionate care based on your specific goals and desires. I will never pressure or judge you or make you feel invalidated. I aim to support you every step of your motherhood journey and work with you to help you cultivate confidence and succeed. Ultimately I want you to feel cared for and supported and to be able to bond with your baby and truly enjoy the newborn stage. Having me in your corner will help relax you and relieve pressure as I offer guidance, support, education, and help.
I was a Labor and Delivery nurse for 12 years before transitioning to lactation care full-time. I have been an IBCLC for 3.5 years.
I now hold my BSN, RN, and IBCLC credentials. (Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Registered Nurse, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant). I attended Missouri State University, majoring in Psych and minoring in communications. Following this, I went to Saint Luke’s College of Nursing and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Since graduating, I have been a part of newborns’ lives as a Labor and Delivery RN for 12 years, Pediatric Operating Room for one year, Lactation Consultant in a hospital setting and NICU for two years, & now I own and operate my own private practice lactation consulting business.
I have been married to my best friend and husband, Joel, for 17 years, and we have 4 kids. Lily, Adelyn, JJ, and Jack are my biggest blessings on Earth. I have very different labor, delivery, and breastfeeding stories with each of them, which gives me real life experience as a breastfeeding and working mama, and also helps me to empathize with you as we work through challenges together.
As a family, we love spending time with each other, especially outdoors or doing anything active - hiking, biking, running, pickle ball, traveling, gardening, and visiting local coffee shops. Joel and I also love spending time together watching our kids play soccer, basketball, and music. We like to joke that we have date nights at the soccer fields! I also serve as a mentor for the ministry Embrace Grace at our church, and we all love our fur baby Chief!
My practice
Every mama and baby couplet is different, so offering individualized care is very important to me. I take the time needed to help teach you, guide you, create confidence, and take the stress away so you can focus on loving and enjoying your baby.
I use my strong assessment skills and critical thinking I have developed as an obstetrics registered nurse to complement my role as a board-certified lactation consultant.
I strive to help mamas develop the confidence they need to reach their breastfeeding goals and help their babies thrive.
I treat all my clients with the utmost respect. I perform comprehensive assessments for both mama & baby to help troubleshoot and work through breastfeeding challenges. The individualized care plans I write will help you to feel encouraged and confident.
I offer prenatal lactation consults with individualized breastfeeding education, postpartum lactation consultations at home, office, and virtually, I offer a free support group, I offer pumping, and back-to-work/school consults, which include pump flange fittings. I also offer infant CFT (craniosacral fascial therapy) sessions.
I have advanced training in oral dysfunction and habilitation through the IBCLC Masterclass. I also took an extensive course to become trained in the CFT Gillespie Approach. These two courses enable me to work with babies experiencing feeding difficulties, oral ties, and oral dysfunction, whether bottle feeding or breastfeeding.
I am trained well to be able to support you in any way you choose to feed your baby.
